It was a night of perfumed ladies in their magnificent gowns and dashing men in their exquisite Barong Tagalog and black suits. The dance floor was awashed with beautiful and glittering lights. The 10 candidates, vying for Miss and Mrs Philippine of Victoria paraded before the judges with their multi-coloured, shimmering gowns. For the candidates, it was a nerve-wrecking yet very exciting evening. It was the coronation night of Miss and Mrs Philippine Fiesta of Victoria and the Miss and Mrs Charity Quest. The event was held on 2 December at .the La Mirage reception and Convention Centre.

The coronation, which was attended by more than 800 people , was a culmination of the 2 –day Philippine Fiesta celebration which was on its 27^th year.

Mr Ross Manuel, the chairperson of the Philippine Fiesta of Victoria, Mr Roy Carbungco, the over-all quest coordinator and Mrs Yvonne Bayjeck welcomed all the guests and thanked all candidates, their families, relatives and friends for their unwavering support during the quest.

The current chairperson of the Beauty Quest, Ms Yvonne Bajzek, enunciated the vital role of the Quest in maintaining and upkeep of the Philippine Fiesta Community Centre at Laverton.

The winners of the Miss and Mrs Philippine Fiesta and Charity 2009 were announced amidst the wild cheers of their supporters. Miss Kathleen Wright and Mrs Cecil Byrne were crowned as the Miss and Mrs Philippine Fiesta of Victoria both wearing splendid Filipino flag-inspired gowns.. Both of them could not believe that they could get the much coveted titles..

Other titlists for Miss Philippine Fiesta and Charity Quest were: Miss Rushell MacDonald, First runner-up Miss Philippine Fiesta of Victoria 2009; Third Runner up Miss Charity Victoria and Best in Talent.

Miss Catherine Vella, Second runner-up Miss Philippine Fiesta Victoria 2009; First runner-up Miss Charity Victoria; Miss Friendship; Miss Photogenic and Best in Filipiniana Gown..

Miss Sarah Philips, Second Runner up Miss Philippine Fiesta of Victoria Charity 2009; Best Filipiniana Gown and Miss Luzon 2009.

Miss Naomi Moore, Best evening Gown, Miss Visayas, and Miss Elizabeth Generoso, Miss Mindanao..

For the Mrs Philippine Fiesta and Charity Quest, Mrs Cecil Byrne , was crowned as Mrs Philippine Fiesta of Victoria and Mrs Charity. She was also awarded Mrs Friendship, Mrs Photogenic, Best in Evening and Filipiniana Gowns.

Mrs Yollie Truz was awared as First Runner up Mrs Philippine Fiesta Victoria 2009 and First runner up Mrs Philppine Victoria charity and Best in talents. .

Rosalie Bering was Second Runner Up Mrs Philippine Fiesta and Second Runner up Mrs Philippine Fiesta Victoria Charity 2009.

Ms Wright, the current Miss Philippine Victoria thanked all her supporters especially her parents and encouraged young people to get involve with the Fiesta. She added that ‘For me, to have won this title is truly an honor…I will try to my best to represent the community [Filipino-Australian community] with honour and dignity and promote our country and our culture[the Philippines] here in Australia.”

Ms Anne Tejido, Miss Philippine Fiesta 2009 , Mrs Zeny Lorenzo, Mrs Philippine Fiesta and Mrs Fiesta Philippine Charity; and Mrs Nenita Ayton, Mrs Philippine Fiesta Charity, made their final walk before the proclamation of the winners.

Major sponsors Fiesta like Western Travel, Western Union, Philippine Tours, Philippine Airline, UBI TV World /GMA7 were given certificate of appreciations as well as the NAB, Imelda Hairdressing Salon, CTT and LBC, Australia.

The coronation was hosted by Miss Anne Tejido, winner of the Miss Philippine Fiesta of Victoria 2007 and Mr Myles Johansson , the current Ginoong Pilipinas Victoria.
