GMA'S MARIAN RIVERA, DINGDONG DANTES GRACE PINOY FIESTA & TRADE SHOW IN TORONTO

The members of the Filipino community not only in Toronto, Ontario but also in other parts of Canada and the United States went to see GMA's Kapuso superstars Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes during the Pinoy Fiesta and Trade Show at the Metro Convention Center here on June 9, 2012.

Dingdong Dantes & Marian Rivera answer questions at the Meet & Greet dinner during the Philippine-Canadian Charitable Foundation's Pinoy Fiesta & Trade Show in Toronto.

Well, thanks to the Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation headed by President Jaime Marasigan and at the same time, one of the top men of the Order of the Knights of Rizal, Canada Regional Council and former head of the Batangas Association of Ontario. Of course he is ably supported by PCCF Executive Vice President Rosemer A. Enverga who is very active supporting the Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Bathurst, North York, which is a Filipino Chaplaincy.

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce - Toronto headed by its humble and hardworking President Oswald Tugade as he strongly being supported by the PCCT members who belong to the Filipino business group.
The PCCF believes in sharing and helping the very reason the members of the Filipino community in Toronto are strongly giving their support.

It wqs learned that next year Pinoy Piyesta and Trade Show will have a more stronger group of stars from GMA Kapuso team from the Philippines.

Dingdong Dantes gives Marian Rivera a kiss upon prodding by guests, a lot of who came from outside Toronto, New York & Chicago.

It was Yuletide season, a good time for another family reunion in the Philippines. We celebrated Christmas Eve at my brother Danny and his wife Cindy’s house. Cindy’s sisters Annie and Bettina hosted Christmas lunch. Our holiday meals were both delightful and generous. It was time for some physical vacation activities. Our destination – Coron in the province of Palawan.

Coron is remote. We took three modes of transportation to get there - by air, land and sea. Our big family tour group flew from Manila to Busuanga Island just north of the island of Palawan, then rode two vans through hills and dirt roads, before taking two motor boats to reach our secluded vacation hideaway by the beach. The skillful boatmen waded and pushed the two small crafts as we passed through shallow waters between mangroves.

Experienced painters are often confronted with the problem of what to do with their early works whose originally unnoticed flaws have become more obvious with the passage of time.

Some professionals suggest the slash-and-burn option which consists in carrying out literally what the words mean. One should get rid of anything that could blot one's otherwise brilliant portfolio. Some artists already held in high esteem find this a sensible solution to avoid damage to their reputation or a plunge in their market-value. But, in this age when the dividing line between mediocrity and excellence in art appears to be non-existent, this suggestion seems extreme.

The majority, of course, recommend keeping them as is. One should not be ashamed of one's humble beginnings. If anything, early works are testaments to the artist's hard-fought struggles to achieve perfection or fitting preludes to a story with a happy ending. This is fine as long as one is willing to be reminded constantly of one's previous mistakes.
