Last August during their summer holiday in the Philippines Catherine Malabanan Manaog with her two young daughters, Katrina and Mikaela visited the children ages three to six years who receive free pre-elementary training through Gawad Kalinga’s  (GK) program, SIBOL  Prep-school in barangay Don Manuel in Quezon City.

Eddie and I were just married when we stopped off for two days in Cairo before coming to The Netherlands. My cousin was then with the Philippine Embassy there. The two-day stay was too short. We were only able to visit the pyramid of King Cheops and the Cairo museum....

Since it was established in 2002 SIBOL Prep School has given free kindergarten lessons to children between the age of three and six years. By the end of this month 18 children who reached the age of six will begin formal elementary education when school year 2012-2013 opens in June....
